About the Author:

Since receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Colorado in 1984, John Oakes has served as a minister and as a professor of Chemistry and Physics. He has presented lectures on various Christian Evidence topics at a number of colleges and other settings around the world.

He has authored books including From Shadow to Reality, which discusses the relationships between the Old and New Testaments, and Reasons for Belief: A Handbook of Christian evidences, which provides a basis in fact for belief in the Bible as the inspired Word of God. John and his wife, Jan, along with their children, Ben, Elizabeth, and Kathryn, make their home in southern California.
